Features of Direct HDL Cholesterol Test Kit:
- Ready-to-use, stable liquid reagent of 3:1 ratio
- Detection range of 2.5 – 200 mg/dL
- Hemoglobin (100 mg/dL) and bilirubin (20 mg/dL) were found to exhibit negligible interference (< 5 %)
- Packed with calibrator
Intended use of Direct HDL Cholesterol Test Kit:
The TRUEchemie Direct HDL Cholesterol Test Kit (Polymer – Detergent) is used for the “in vitro” quantitative determination of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in human serum.
Introduction of Direct HDL Cholesterol Test Kit:
High-density lipoproteins (HDL) compose one of the major classes of plasma lipoproteins. They are synthesized in the liver as complexes of apolipoprotein and phospholipid and are capable of picking up cholesterol and carrying it from arteries to the liver, where the cholesterol is converted to bile acids and excreted into the intestine.
An inverse relationship between HDL-cholesterol (HDL-C) levels in serum and the incidence/prevalence of coronary heart disease (CHD) has been demonstrated in several epidemiological studies. The importance of HDL-C as a risk factor for CHD is now recognized. Accurate measurement of HDL-C is of vital importance when assessing a patient’s risk for CHD.
TRUEchemie Direct HDL Cholesterol Test Kit (SP):
The Direct HDL Cholesterol Test Kit (Polymer – Detergent method) is used for the quantitative determination of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) in human serum.
- Principle: This test kit employs a modified polyvinyl sulfonic acid (PVS) and polyethyleneglycol-methyl ether (PEGME) coupled classic precipitation method. It optimally utilizes PVS/PEGME and selected detergents.
- Reaction Process:
- LDL, VLDL, and chylomicrons react with PVS and PEGME, rendering them inaccessible to cholesterol oxidase (CHOD) and cholesterol esterase (CHER).
- These enzymes selectively react with HDL, producing H₂O₂, which is detected through a Trinder reaction.
- Calibration: The procedures are calibrated using the included calibrator solution, with absorbance used to calculate results.
- Expected Value:
- Male: 35 – 80 mg/dL
- Female: 42 – 88 mg/dL
- Precision:
- Intra-assay precision (within run): CV = 3.18% (n=20)
- Inter-assay precision (run to run): CV = 2.84% (n=20)
- Method Comparison:
- Results obtained using this reagent correlate well with another commercial reagent (correlation coefficient r² = 0.99, regression equation: y=1.072x+0.705).
